When I first was diagnosed a celiac my thyroid was off the charts the endo doctor figured out what was going on and that got better because I was able to absorbe the synthroid. Well now my thyroid is off the charts again , I havent been getting into anything that I am not suppost to. Could another type of food be causing this? or I am totally grasping here?

I'm not sure of your age but I know my thyroid ( as a doctor explained to me) was slowly dying off, then after about 10 months it kicked in & started to work again. Which my doc says can happen but not often! So I went off medication for a long while then got VERY Ill & the docs didn't tend to my thyroid for a long period of time. At this point or lack of missing the popint by the docs, my thyroid turned on my heart & put me into A Fib plus a lot more. I was never so weak or ill in all my life..... To make a very long story short I had to have my thyroid ablated with radioactive iodine. Against my strongest NO but I ended up with no choice. If I hadn't I would be gone today.

I think the thyroid regulates pretty much of all body functions so don't rule out that this is not your thyroid.

Today, I'm better than I was a year in a half ago but I'm still a long way from feeling better. I take synthroid now . I still get very tired & weak , lost a ton of hair, had some weigh gain & get in down moods at times. This doc will only give synthroid , he hates armour.... & cytomel.... which helped me more than anything else to date......

By off the charts do you mean high? Low? If you were taking synthroid I am guessing it is low.

You might have your heavy metals tested, maybe something else is interfering.

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.

Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!

That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.

Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
