The Nubru Beer

Hey guys. I went to the liquor store to buy some more beer yesterday and gave the name of the Nubru beer to the guy there. I told him its made in Winnipeg and that I'd like to try some. I said it couldn't be any more expensive then La Messagere, and he said "Yeah this stuff is...pretty pricy" . If I do get a hold of some, I'll definitely give my review and tell you all the cost of it

Hi, hope his helps.. It was rated poorly on the beer advocate... I think it is along the lines of New Grist but with a weird lemony flavor...

Anyway, ratebeer shows it no better. You do have to consider that this is being compared to gluten beers, so the reviewers might be a bit unaware of the parameters this beer has been created within. Here is the the ratebeer.com site, you might want to re-consider even trying to get it with those reviews, lol! :

If you are going to spend money on a beer that is worth it, get Green's. The dubble and tripple are amazing and the owner/brewer is a celiac also, so he is 100% invested into making a quality brew (and the price reflects it, lol!)

sorry for so much info, but beer was my hobby before celiac diagnosis. Although I can not have any of my favorite imports and microbrews anymore, I am enjoying the new challenge of finding good gluten-free beer and homebrew techniques!

Edit: oh that is so sad! I know how that is though... I live in a state with unusual alch laws and am used to traveling and/or contacting distributors to get what I am looking for myself. Green's is about the same price as your other beer, but I would only suggest it if you like a darker, robust brew..

I personally would take a road trip to load up on several cases of something, lol!... My hubby and I are planning on going to the gluten-free microbeer fest for our anniversary... sort of an extreme beer road trip, lol! Well, I hope the review helped anyway and keep your eye on the Green's website... distribution is improving as demand builds! Good luck, hope you get the brew of your desire!

Guess you don't realize that right now in Canada the only gluten-free beer we can get is La Messagere. And Nubru is finally another being made in Canada too. I just wanna try my options so that if its good, and cheaper, i'll sometimes buy it too instead of paying $19 for a 6 pack of La Messagere...
