I have tried searching for this, but cannot find it:

Is Oil of Olay soap gluten free? I'm finding contradicting information.

Thanks.

Hello, I wrote Oil of Olay after using their Hypoallergenic body wash. I did discover it had gluten. They informed me that they didn't see causing a problem for celiac disease because you would have to ingest it. All I know is that it left me with a horrible itchy rash. I don't bother using their body wash after that. It is possible the formulation has changed in the last year, but I won't use it anymore.

I'm more concerned with their bars of soap. How did you find out the body wash had gluten.

The ingredients in the label. I believe that I have DH. I had horrible itching for almost a year. When I wrote them, they replied it shouldn't matter since I wasn't eating it. I am not sure about their bar soap. You could call or email them to find out. Wendy

When I contacted them a while ago they told me the only gluten-free products they have are the unscented lotion for sensitive skin. I didn't ask about the bar soap but if it has a fragrance it most likely is not safe. I usually won't use any products by any company that tells me since I don't eat it, it is safe. I don't feel they will actually give me a correct answer.

Because something has fragrance automatically puts it into the not safe mode? Explain please?

Many companies don't know exactly what is in the fragrances and the vehicle or other chemical components for them can be derived from a gluten grain oil or alcohol.

This almost the same response I got from L'Oreal last year when I called them about a body lotion. They said that the fragrances could contain gluten.

Thanks for the list too makes me realise why I still get symptoms after cutting gluten , all that reading has just made sense to why I'm still struggling , thankyou Scott Adams very insightful , I've been baking to and there is xanthum gum in the flour , I understand now why I still have issues with that too, and ive had to cut dairy also , i had a terrible flare few months ago and my throat also was very irritable and I had sinuses issues all makes sence 👍

Thankyou yes I read up on it beforehand , because or my trapped nerve when I have a bowel flare up it's impossible to keep still  which I will have to do for the MRI ,and it's so painful , and I know if this is what I'm thinking it to be it will cause me terrible issues , sometimes I get to the point where I just want to diagnose myself and act accordingly, because I've been at this year's , and I clearly have all the symptoms , it's so frustrating when you have all this going in and still feel no further ahead 😳

It looks like "mannite" is another name for "mannitol": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mannitol You are correct that it can trigger IBS-like symptoms, as we recently did an article on this: I'm not sure if there is a way around this, as it is likely needed for the test. Perhaps contact your doctor to see if there might be an alternative?

Oral drink: You will be given a solution of mannitol mixed with water to drink over a period of about 30-60 minutes this is what it says it is ,?
