I was cleaning my room a bit, and found the copies of my scopes i had done in Calgary/Saskatoon Feb 2007, from that time I was in the hospital here in Regina and they got copies and said i can keep them. I finally decide to read them and I discovered I was lied to about the one too, when my family doc said "nothing, everything negative".

From the endoscopy they found esophageal candidiasis / diaphragmatic hiatus

From the colonoscopy, well that confuses me. under findings they said "the terminal ileum appeared normal for a distance of a few cm". ...why would they make note of the 'few cm'?? ....and here's the scary part: there was "staining of mucosa" that looked like melanosis coli (looked it up, makes the colon wall black) but that's caused by taking laaxatives which i NEVER have. So something else is making my wall black!! .

The overall results of the endoscopy says:

A: Esophagus biopsy: acute and chronic esophagitis

B: Duodenum biopsy: normal duodenum mucosa

C: Gastric biopsy: no evidence of acute or chronic gastritis; negative for intenstinal metaplasia; negative for helicobactor pylori

D: Terminal Ileum biopsy: normal terminal ileum mucosa

E: Random colon biopsy: melanosis coli

The overall results of the colonoscopy says:

A: sections show a large fragment of squamous epithelium with reparative changes. There are infiltrates of lympocytes, as well as focal infiltrates of neurophilic collections. Candida is not seen. Viral inclusions are not seen.

That is all foreign language to me, even when i tried looking them up online. If any you can explain it, that would be great!

Lisa,

Is it possible to take the results to a doctor other than the one who told you "everything was negative" for a second opinion?

I had some help figuring out the most mysterious part (thank you, Brian!!).

the summary and biopsy reports, when put together, explain that I have Candida, but in the esophagus which is Chronic and severe enough that i have erosion.

Now my biggest concerns are how do I treat this after a year of damage already, and what in the world can be making my colon black?

There are infiltrates of lympocytes, as well as focal infiltrates of neurophilic collections.

My GI dr suggested at one point that I may have Lymphocitic colitis which may be what the "infiltrates of lympocytes" means. If you google it, it basically says it's caused by stress and the management of it is with anti-diarrheal meds and "life changes." I don't know that I believe that, but that's what she said too.

I have trouble with nausea. It often starts when I’m anxious about something (home repairs, sick dog) but continues long after the home is repaired or the dog is healthy again. When it happens I eat less and lose weight.  My gastroenterologist suggested ginger or peppermint tea. I don’t know if that will work or not because I haven't had the problem since she suggested it.

Hello  I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.  Horrible pain..plus acid reflux and nausea... sensitivity to touch pain. ..yikes !! I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you

Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.

Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-Free.

Hi all  I was diagnosed Coeliac a few years ago and follow a gluten free diet. The list of foods that I can eat without a problem grows shorter on a weekly basis. [I also have diabetes and asthma also].  BUT the reason I am posting this is because I seem to struggle with nausea quite a lot, which is really quite debilitating, and I was wondering if others suffer from nausea, even if following a gluten free diet.
