I get the idea that Corn Flakes and Kix are not gluten free???

Is it somehow in the cereal or x-contamination??

All Kellogs cereals have barley malt in them and are not safe.

But some corn flakes might be fine. Somebody here will likely know the answer.

Open Original Shared Link has oats in it. They can be contaminated with wheat in the growing/storing/processing. Most corn flakes have malt in them, which is usually from Barley. Here is the ingredient panel from Open Original Shared Link:

MILLED CORN, SUGAR, MALT FLAVORING, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, SALT, IRON, NIACINAMIDE, SODIUM ASCORBATE AND ASCORBIC ACID (VITAMIN C), PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE (VITAMIN B6), RIBOFLAVIN (VITAMIN B2), THIAMIN HYDROCHLORIDE (VITAMIN B1), VITAMIN A PALMITATE, FOLIC ACID, VITAMIN B12, AND VITAMIN D. TO MAINTAIN QUALITY, BHT HAS BEEN ADDED TO THE PACKAGING.

There are safe brands of corn flakes that do not contain barley malt in them. I have heard that there is a Genral Mills cereal called Tigger and Pooh that is like Kix, but I haven't seen in locally yet.

Hope this helps.

I found the Winnie the Pooh cereal at walmart, for 1.60 a box. I really liked it.

The box of KIX we have had "wheat starch" in the ingredient list.

You can now buy Envirokids cereals at BJs (very reasonably priced) in a 3 pack with Koala Krisp, Gorilla Munch Crunch, and Peanut Butter Panda Puffs.

Those are a hit at our house.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
