I have a short ingredient list that is and isn't ok, but I can't seem to find anything more comprehensive!!! Does anyone have a good gluten-free ingredient list - both what is and isn't allowed? I have lists of common brands, etc, that are ok. But, I need an ingredient list to carry, too, if possible!!! Thanks for the help!

go to "my gluten free list" posted on 1/10/08 and you'll find a comprehensive list that a member has compiled. I purchased the Triumph Dining Series which has a book listing supermarket products that are gluten free (name brands, thus cheaper). a restaurant guide for all 50 states, and dining cards (laminated and written in the language of the cuisine on one side and english on the other). I am newly diagnosed and just moved to a new state after living in NJ my entire life. I was doing well but recently had a flare. I think that Lisa (she posted the list) was correct that some of us are sensitive to canola Oil. I think it's going to be trial and error for me for a while. Good luck. I hope this helps.

P.S. I'm new to the forum so I don't know if I'm allowed to print a link to that page. I actually found it when I googled after my new G.I. told me I still had a lot of the gluten markers in my blood. I've been religiously sticking to the diet and don't even allow anyone with regular leftovers to bring them home. Being my own detective.

Thanks Scott. They are gluten-free but cross contaminated.

Hi there @MCAyr I have a small umbilical hernia which came about during my second pregnancy.   I can just about see it, and feel it, when I stand or sit, but it is far less noticeable when I lie down.  I always know when I am putting on weight because I can get pain and burning near the site, funnily enough not on the hernia itself but either side!  I would imagine bloating could cause the same effect as weight gain. In my case I don't think it is my bowel protruding but a bit of fat  - sorry,  I realise this isn't painting a very pretty picture.  But in truth it is scarcely noticeable.  It has never really got bigger in size. I was rather hoping that it could be operated on but here in the UK they don't seem to operate on every hernia anymore.  My GP isn't remotely worried about it. In a way, I should be thankful - it is like an early warning system that I need to go on a diet! Cristiana

The hernia description would likely be unrelated to celiac disease, but you'd need to get it checked out by your doctor to be sure it's a hernia.
