Lunch Meat - In Canada

Hey there. I just was out and about shopping trying to fill my cupboards more with food that I cna eat. One thing I am missing is my sandwiches / wraps. Looking on here I did find a list of safe lunch meats, and they say to buy prepaged as it is easier to know for sure if gluten-free but also to be safe from CC.

The list stated ones like Hormel, Oscer Meyer, Sara Lee and such....

Well, while shopping about here in Kelowna, B.C. Canada I noticed we do nto carry ANY of those brands. The ONLY gluten-free one that I found was Carl Budding, and I despise that brand for many reasons ( and you cannot freeze it so you are out buying every second day ).

Does ANYONE know of any gluten free lunch meat I can find here? Should I wing it with the deli meats?? HELP..... :(

Try Freybe, all gluten free, Safeway carries it here if they don't there maybe they would be willing to. :)

I don't know if they have Piller's in BC (it's from Ontario), but they list all allergens on their site, and nearly all are gluten-free.

We buy Freybes and Grimm's . I live in Alberta and find them at IGA, Sobey's, Safeway. They (Grimm's and Freybe) also have gluten free smokies and pepperoni sticks.

Wow, thanks everyone for your replies. To be honest I wasn't sure if I would even get any. I am SO excited now to go looking for these brands and start having me some sandwiches again :D

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
