Need Replacement For Ingredient

Hey All,

I need some help. I have Bette Hagman's book "Cooks Fast & Healthy" any way there is a recipe in there for onion soup mix using Kitchen Bouquet seasoning sauce. Then I read somewhere it contained gluten and I thought no way, if Bette put it in her book than it is OK. Well it does because I called the company and they said yes. Anyway my question is, does anyone have a good substitute for Kitchen Bouquet in recipes. I really would like to try the recipe but need something else to use. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Deb, the only sub I can think of would be a reduced vegetable broth with some added instant coffee crystals for the dark color or maybe straight unsweetened cocoa..

I'm really curious since I've used Kitchen Bouquet for years and years..What is the ingredient in it that is gluten? Reading the label it doesn't appear as there is any in there, unless they have change their ingredients lately.

It's true, Kitchen Bouquet is NOT gluten-free. Gravy Master, however, is and it's the same thing as KB (or, I should say, it does the same thing...)

Balsamic Vinegar or molasses for color, vinegar would add a tart flavor, and molasses a sweeter flavor.
