One vegan, one gluten and dairy intolerant adult, and one gluten intolerant child.

Thanks

I live in San Jose, but I don't eat out, except rarely at El Pollo Loco, where the roast chicken & the pinto beans are gluten-free.

There will be some info here.

Next to Monterey, in Pacific Grove, is Open Original Shared Link , which has gluten-free sandwiches, soups etc - or so I've heard.

I think there's one of these in Gilroy - gluten-free menu, I've heard. Open Original Shared Link

Have a great time!!! I've been meaning to get down to Monterey etc.

There is a Carino's Italian Grill in Gilroy which we have eaten at a couple of times. Bring your own bread to enjoy their herb-oil dip. Their Chicken Scaloppini is absolutely delicious! Since they do not carry Gluten-free pasta, ask for their dishes without pasta and substitute roasted potatoes instead (or other veggies listed on Gluten-free menu). I would print their Gluten-free menu and bring it in and show it to them to remind them about Gluten-free. Here is a link to their gluten-free menu:

Their address is: 6805 Camino Arroyo, Gilroy, and the restaurant is right off of Highway 101.

Enjoy!

hi,

I meant to post when I returned from my trip, but time flew by.

It was my first trip and I was nervous...but things went well.

In San Jose we ate at PF changs. Very very yummy. Even my son(not gluten free) who does not like chinese found something he liked. My DD and I had the singapore noodles and the the buddha's feast. OUr waiter was aware of gluten intolerance and very helpful. He asked the chef if they would make us a special lettuce wrap that was guten free and vegetarian. They did! so yummy. we tipped well

We also ate at Chili's on a very hot day. I had salad, beans, and manderin oranges.

In Gilroy we ate at Johnny Carinos. So yummy too. They were so nice and accomadating. Since my dd and I did not eat the bread they let us have salads instead(I asked). I had the rosemary lemon chicken with spinach. so good. My dd dish had dairy so I did not try it. We tipped well here too. He was a great waiter.

In Monterey we ate at Bubba Gumps. My hubby spilled beer all done my leg. Oh well. But my waitress was great. They did not have a gluten free menu, but she was very aware of gluten intolerance and use to work at pf changs. She went to the kitchen several times for me to insure my food was safe. I had panfried in olive oil and herbs fish with rice. In was really good too. She also got tipped well.

We also ate at pf changs in Monterey. My dd and I had singapore noodles and garlic snap peas. yummy.

At the Monterey Aquarium I had salad and fruit. My daughter also had yogurt.

Hope this is helpful.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
