HI Michelle and Welcome,

All coke, pepsi, 7-up and sprite products are gluten free. I would suggest that you stick to those until you learn more about the diet.

You can learn a lot on this site. Welcome again.

Hi, have trying to find out about Dr. Pepper. since it has 23 ingredients and secret. Was wondering if anyone else has had problems with it. I drink very little soft drinks but tried Dr. Pepper a couple weeks ago. Now my DH is very active. Trying to track down the cause. Thanks for any help. Babs.......Oh I have no idea about the slushies.

I could never find out about Slurpees, but I found that Icees are a good substitute. Their website lists their flavors and ingredients as well as gluten free. www.icee.com

But you didn't answer my question. When you consume gluten, is there an identifiable reaction within a short period of time, say a few hours?

You can still have celiac disease with negative blood test results, although it's not very common:  Clinical and genetic profile of patients with seronegative coeliac disease: the natural history and response to gluten-free diet: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5606118/  Seronegative Celiac Disease - A Challenging Case: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9441776/  Enteropathies with villous atrophy but negative coeliac serology in adults: current issues: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34764141/

I am only wondering why you would need to cut out rice? I've never heard of rice being any issue in those with DH.

My mother has celiac disease and was diagnosed with Afib around 8 months ago. She's 81 and around 2 months ago had ablation therapy done, which is a very common procedure to treat this, and has been out of Afib 95% of the time since then. Apparently the full effects of this treatment don't kick in for 90 days, so the doctors expect her recovery to possibly reach 100%. Be sure to discuss this with your doctor.
