Stiiiiiinky Poo!

Ok, we've dealt with stinky poo previous to the gluten-free diet. However stinky poo then meant it smelled exactly like really bad vomit, and we kind of got used to it.... Well, last night DD had a poo (a little more than a week gluten-free) that filled the room with the odor of burning rubber! It was seriously nasty... Is this normal after they've gone gluten-free?

Stinkier poo....YES!!! Oh yes!!! And weird colors and weird consistencies. You guys are detoxing. Ride it out. It WILL get better. :)

Ahhhhh, this is good to know! I was wondering why my daughter had the NASTIEST POOP the other nite! I won't go into what it smelled like, but it seriously could've taken the PAINT off the walls! Guess we're still detoxing...(we're about 5-7 days in right now...I can't exactly remember.)

so glad to read this. ds had normalish poo yesterday (first day cf/gluten-free) but it was super light. Today he had real lose stool- but he had got some gum that had a milk derivative that I wasn't aware of- anyone know how long to expect for little ones to straighten out?

Thiamine interacts with all the other B vitamins.  Thiamine and B 6 make a very important enzyme together. With more thiamine and other vitamins available from the supplements your body is absorbing the ones you need more of.  The body can control which vitamins to absorb or not.  You're absorbing more and it's being transported through the blood.   It's common to have both a Thiamine and a Pyridoxine deficiency.  Keep taking the B Complex. This is why it's best to stop taking supplements for six to eight weeks before testing vitamin levels.

Yes I took a supplement that had B6 in it, low dosage though. I've stopped taking that. B1 doesn't affect other B vitamin levels?

Have you tried lip balm made from tallow?  It's been used for thousands of years and works better than those with waxes. I prefer Vintage Traditions brand tallow balm products.

Are you taking a B 6 supplement or a supplement containing B 6 like a B Complex?  Do you have pins and needles in your toes?   Don't worry about the thiamine being high.  The blood is a transport system that carries thiamine to the cells so they can store it.  It's fine.

Quick question, had some blood tests done again and once again my zinc was too low but now ofcourse my B1 was too high and so was my B6. The doc said to  immediately  stop all supplements that contain B6. Can using thiamine raise the levels of B6 too?
