I am CRAVING cheese-its (its become a dirty word in my book). I was wondering if anyone has found a gluten free item that comes close? Or I am even game for a recipe. Something, to get rid of this craving. Thanks for all of the help in advance.

Ali

are you lactose intolerant that you can't eat cheese?

There's a recipe on here called Brazilian Cheese Bread, and to me it tasted just like a big Cheez-it, but softer. I'll bet if you rolled out the dough thinly and baked it, it would come pretty close to Cheez-its. If you do a search on this site, you should be able to find the recipe.

Someone said the new Glutino Cheddar is close.

I made these "cheesy" crackers the other day, they tasted really good but they didn't crunch. We ate them in soup. Very tastey crackers. A toss between cheese nips and wheat thins according to my taste buds.

I used cornstarch, xanthan gum and shortening. When I wrote down the recipe I thought it said shortening but it says olive oil. I doubled the onion powder by mistake but it made them taste good anyway.

Next time try "double baking" them purple. Let them cool and then put in the oven on 350 for 5 - 10 minutes to make them crisp. This worked for a cracker recipe I tried once when they didnt get as crisp as I like.

I wondered if that would work. I will try it again, they were good crackers. Another recipe similar said to bake them about 15 minutes. I read it after we ate the crackers. I assumed I needed to bake them longer. Thanks to you I know it should work now ;):) I am glad b/c my younger dd will enjoy them!

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
