Let's see... I have luck at

Rotee in SF (Howard or Haight) **** Love Sha and the Indian/Pakistani dishes. No pakoras!!!

Soluna in SF (Civic Center) ****** Amazing! Chef Shana Everhart is the Queen of Everything!!!!

PF Changs (all over) **** Great for groups. Order of teh gluten-free menu family style. You can't miss what you don't see.

Pizza Rustico in Oakland (College Ave) ***** gluten-free PIZZA!!! Bring your own gluten-free beer. Heaven.

Cafe Gratitude in Berk (N Shattuck) ***** Yummy raw foods and no gluten in teh whole place, I hear.

Happy Underground Sushi, SF (16 and Market) ***** Best sushi EVER plus tamari = happy underground Susan! Very cool spot.

Squat and Gobble (Haight and Fillmore) ***** They cook their homefries on a separate grill.

The key to a positive dining experience is a combination of your effective and POLITE communication and a caring staff. I am happy to let you know what I order and how when I visit these sweet spots.

I'd love to know about Happy Underground Sushi. I know sometimes the sushi rice is or is not safe based on the type of vinegar used. Could you please share any ordering tips and what's your favorite on the menu? Thanks

You mustn't forget these:

Cafe Mariposa (Oakland) gluten-free Bakery. -frozen pizzas to take home, bagels, breads, delicious! (Sneak in the wine store next door for gluten-free beer)

Bobby G's Pizzaria (On University in Berkeley)- gluten-free pizza with Still Ridin' Crusts, has a much better take on what's gluten-free in their toppings and CC than Rustica does*

SF Soup Company (All over) Designates gluten-free,DF, etc on the menu, knowledgable staff.

Zadin (Castro) - gluten-free menu, amazing vietnamese food, great wait staff.

Amici's pizza in Dublin and San Jose (not the one in the city yet, but I keep pestering them :P) has gluten-free pizza with dedicated prep and cook areas. Really delicious (Still Riding Crusts) The Fried eggplant and the meatball are the only toppings not gluten-free.

Cafe Gratitude does have a couple things that have gluten, they tried to go completely gluten-free and couldn't quite manage it, but they are all very aware of what's going on.

*I really used to love Rustica, but the wait staff there has changed, no one can give me a clear answer on which toppings are gluten-free, and I don't think they are as good with CC as they used to be, I've gotten sick there the last few times I went.

Don't forget Dosa on Valencia and 21st in SF. They have a whole chart of allergens for each dish on the menu, and they update it as the specials change. I love this place.

I asked them about contamination. They do use the same giant grill, but it's big enough that they can cook the wheat dosas on one side. There are only about 3 things (wheat dosas) on the entire menu that contain wheat anyway.

I've also had really good luck with Taste and Sauce, both on Gough St. in Hayes Valley. They are nicer restaurants. I emailed ahead, and they were very knowledgeable about everything.

      Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can...

      Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce. Something is making my pain so much worse I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs. Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever...

      We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. My wife tried to open it in the store and was informed there had been a system change and they could not find the record. No worries, she was told, just talk to management. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

      Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

      Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen  I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce.   Something is making my pain so much worse  I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs.  Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever would do. I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
