Apples?

Ok, maybe DD is just sensitive to apples (because of the level of sorbitol?), but she can't even have a normal serving of apple juice or a small cup of diced apples. Is she so sensitive because she is still healing? Will she ever be able to eat apples? One serving gives her water diarrhea. It doesn't seem to effect her otherwise, but you can guarantee that her next bm will be watery diarrhea. This is so frustrating b/c it is one of her favorite juices and fruits.

I'm wondering if it's the sugar. Have you asked her doctor? If they give her diarrhea, she may be intolerant to them now but after she heals, they may be fine.

I remember when my son was little and had D(not celiac disease related), the Dr. said not to give apple juice, but white grape juice instead.

I know I couldn't eat fruits for a long time when I started the gluten-free diet a year ago. Recently I have been able to tolerate citris again and apples, both a no-no for a long time. Give it some time. Other foods may react the same. Don't get to discouraged just reintroduce in a few months.

hmmmm, interesting. My dd is still having trouble with 1 daily diarrhea. I have noticed that it's worse when she has orange juice or oranges. But she has apple juice every day and sometimes apple sauce. I will try to cut this out and see if it improves. I hope your little one heals and can eat apples again!

I have an aunt that is anaphylactic to apples. She has no other known food allergies.

try Welch's 100% grape juice - & dilute with water

Interesting, when I suffered for a few months with ectopics I noticed that carbohydrates would cause indigestion and bloating in my stomach, then that would lead to my heart skipping beats, and I could feel it in my throat, it was very unsettling.  My last serious bout of this was after eating a Muller Rice Pudding for breakfast.   I happened to be wearing a 48 hour halter at the time and cardiology picked it up, but they weren't worried about what they saw. There was some British doctor who'd made some videos on the Vagus nerve that I remember watching at the time which made sense of what I was experiencing, there did seem to be some sort of connection.

I asked my cardiologist about stopping vitamins.  He said his tests account for all detectable vitamins from sources other than food.  I only need to stop them for a couple of days.  He has me keep records of meds and vitamins I've ingested over the past 10 days and prior and he does his calculations.

Reply to treats I try and eat to bring up the glucose. Sometime I get up 3 times a night and eat something. I don't think food is the issue. A lot of the food they say should help doesn't.  Many mornings my level is 59 and I feel sick, sometimes for hours. It has been recommended I go to an Endocrinologist.
