Positive Blood Test

Hi, I've been a diabetic for 26 years, I have thyroide problems and I've recently tested positive through blood tests for Celiac Disease. Next week, I will have a biopsy done and I was wondering if there was a chance that the biopsy could be negative. According to you, does positive blood test pretty much confirms Celiac Disease??

thanks

Rachael

Hi 1morething,

Welcome to the board!

Diabetes and thyroid problems are related to Celiac. Given your health problems, and positive tests, it is probably more likely than you are a Celiac than someone who didn't have the related health concerns. That being said, it depends on which blood tests were run and which were positive.

I would talk to your doctor before the procedure and discuss how many biopsies will be taken 4-6 (minimum) is recommended, as Celiac can have patchy damage in the small intestines. Open Original Shared Link

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
