My 2 year old has been gluten free for 3 months. Everthing is going well except he occasionally gets glutened, I know this because his stool is very loose and turns light in color. It is only 1 stool for 1 day and then he goes back to normal. I am thinking it happens becuase he still puts everything in his mouth, especially his hands. I am just trying to trace where and when it happens most of the time. So my question is does it affect them within a few hours or a day or 2? I know each child is different Im just trying to get others opinions. Thanks so much

Hello Teacherwheart,

In my experience in varies with the amount of gluten I have ingested. It has hit me as quick as 30 minutes to an hour or even taken up to 24 hours.

Best wishes with the gluten free diet!!

Jennifer

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.

Some interesting articles regarding the use of Zinc Carnosine to help heal gastric ulcers, gastritis and intestinal permeability. I would consult a medical professional about it's use. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncpgasthep0778 https://www.rupahealth.com/post/clinical-applications-of-zinc-carnosine---evidence-review https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7146259/ https://www.fallbrookmedicalcenter.com/zinc-l-carnosine-benefits-dosage-and-safety/
