Candida - Itching After Rice Cakes

MELINE

Recommended Posts

MELINE Enthusiast

so I am on my second month of diet + supplements for candida. I had some rice cakes (4) yesterday and today I had some more (3). Things seemed to be ok. This was new to my diet, since for a month I have been eating nothing but protein and salads. Today, 1 hour after my 3 rice cakes I started having mild headache, pressure in the ears and terrible itching all over (and anal itching).

Could that be because of some rice cakes???? I also took an alkalizing supplement this morning, and whenever I am taking it I am feeling wierd (fatigue - headache).

I just hope that if my rice cakes produced more candida, this doesn't mean that I am on day 1.....

I must admit that my oral thrush is not back. Is that a good sign?

any ideas???

It does seem surprising that rice cakes would do that, but I suppose it depends on what your intestines are doing with it after breaking down the carbs into sugars.

I don't know if the alkalizing supplement making you feel badly is good or not, but when I was taking stuff to get rid of yeast, there was some mild effects from the die-off.

Can you list the supplements you are taking?

..Riceguy thank you....

well I have to report a tiny little detail....rice cakes here are from white rice.....I mean whole rice, but white.......Maybe that was the problem.........I just hope I didn't go to stage zero....??

The supplements I am taking are:

*Candiclear and Paraclens (they are supplements for candida, the brand is HIGHER NATURE, and they have oregano oil, caprylic acid, garlic and pau d'arco)

*Betaine HCL (to increase stomach acids)

*Alklaline supplement for ph balance

*grapefruit extract

*vitamin c

*digestive enzymes

*pure aloe vera

*FOS

I exercise, drink pure alkaline water, eat tones of green salad ,sea salt and ginger, turkey, chicken, eggs , fish, onions and garlic and at least 5-6 spoons of coconut oil / day. I am feeling extremely better and my oral thrush is 99% gone. I just got scared today with all the itching and the ear pain after the newly introduced rice cakes. I did see candida in my stools (grossy..sorry...) but that was just one time, few days before..

The only thing (I think) I am not doing is that I am really not in a good mood. I keep crying over some stupid thing that is happening in my life right now and I think that this is not helping at all.....

thank you so much for any info...

Are you sure the rice cakes are 100 percent gluten free. I know it has been posted that some are not gluten free. I think since u were eating such bland foods for sometime now, that adding any new thing in would cause stress to your body. Especially eating that many rice cakes in 2 days. That is too many carbs for your body to handle.

MELINE Enthusiast

they are gluten free, it is stated in the package (hope it is true....)

but you are giving a good explanation. Maybe I over - did it.....That makes me feel better, I just don't want these creatures  coming back even more powerful...lol....

Meline, I did the Alkalizing diet about 18 months ago and I had to stop it after 5 weeks because my stomach got so sore and painful.

I went all out - got the pH drops and the Green Drink powder and all - it cleared up the Candida pretty well and my IBS went away, but I couldn't keep it going.

At the time I thought that I may have had too much veg, but I am eating quite a bit now and am fine so I suspect that it was the drops and the green drink. I think I over-alkalized myself too much or too fast and my body couldn't take it.

Now I have at least 2 large glasses of green smoothie each day but made just with fruit and veg, no supplements and I am fine on it.

It may have been the rice cakes, but it might just also have been the pH drops. It is best to change the diet gradually and give the body time to adjust. The body should be slightly alkaline, but it is possible to over-alkalize. If you feel weird then your body is telling you something.

Wholegrain rice cakes may be better if you can get them - is there any other ingredient that you might react to? Could they be processed in a factory that processes other things and be contaminated?

Some of us on the SCD are looking into Neem to get rid of the bugs. I am going to try and get some pure neem leaves to make tea with to try and get the stuff into my digestive tract from the mouth down (my mouth is like a sewage pit in the morning - well most of the time!) It is a plant with fantastic medicinal use as an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal used extensively in Asia and I am itching to get hold of some and give it a try.

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
