Miller's Gluten Free Bakery

I purchased gluten-free bread and gluten-free pierogies from Miller's and it was a wonderful experience.

They are in Rochelle Park NJ - I don't know if they ship everywhere, but email them to see what they

say.

I give the packaging studiness 5 stars. Sturdy cardboard box with styrofoam sides and top and "peanuts" covering the products.

The bread was wonderful. The texture was great, It sliced great (without

crumbling) and it had a great flavor -NOT like cardboard gluten-free bread!

The bread does not come pre-sliced.

The pierogies were just like non gluten-free in taste and texure. I thoroughly enjoyed them. They were not overly onion in flavor. Just right.

I believe that Miller is a sponsor of this site as well....I did link to them through this site a few weeks ago when I ordered.

Just so you know, they were only taking orders over internet with PAY PAL, but maybe by now they have their credit card method up and running. If not, be prepared to

pay thru Pay Pal or call them to find out if there's another method (i.e., check or money order.)

Hi

I've been trying to find out about Miller's for a while now. Glad you liked them. Have you eaten Conte'e pierogi's before? I just wondered whose are better.

Which bread did you buy? I want to try the streusel top one!

thanks mamaw

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
