Does anyone know if TriNessa is gluten free? It's the generic of OrthoTriCyclen and that is ok, but I can't find TriNessa. I've searched everywhere!!

Thanks!

just an fyi to anyone who might be wondering about this, i called my pharmacy (duh! lol) and was told this: "well, i don't see that it has gluten in it... so yeah, you should be fine."

i'm not exactly sure what i think about that response. he didn't exactly sound sure about it. i would have quizzed him further but they were busy and honestly i don't think i was talking to someone that really knew the ins and outs of hidden gluten.

I'm sorry, I DON'T know anything about any of the oral birth control pills. I've never bothered to look into them, as a good friend of mine nearly died from a blood clot caused by birth control pills (and no, she was not in ANY of the high risk groups--she was young, she was a non-smoker, she was healthy, she exercised, she ate healthy--and now she is on blood thinners for the rest of her life).

I just wanted to throw it out there that, if you are new to being gluten-free, then you need to avoid oral birth control pills until your intestines heal. The reason is, if your intestines have not FULLY healed, then it is very likely that you would not be completely absorbing oral medications, and because of that, optimum dosage (in any oral med) might change as your intestines heal.

i took trinessa for one month and towards the end i began having symptoms. I checked the manufacturer website and the ingredient list includes starch but they would not tell me what starch was used. i stopped using it and a week later stomach issues were gone. could be coincidence but i wouldnt risk it. here's a list i found online. still look at ingredients of course but the nest birth control i got hasn't gievn me any issues

Thanks for the list too makes me realise why I still get symptoms after cutting gluten , all that reading has just made sense to why I'm still struggling , thankyou Scott Adams very insightful , I've been baking to and there is xanthum gum in the flour , I understand now why I still have issues with that too, and ive had to cut dairy also , i had a terrible flare few months ago and my throat also was very irritable and I had sinuses issues all makes sence 👍
