My Visit To Stoneheart Pizza, Cambridge, Ma

Me and my girlfriend visited the Cambridge, MA Stone Hearth Pizza last Saturday evening.

From the street I could see enormous chalk letters on the window with some phrase similar to "TRY OUT NEW GLUTEN FREE MENU." Pretty cool to advertise that in such a fashion.

The interior is cute, and small, there are approximately 10 full size tables. The service was pleasant and very accommodating, our waitress made sure to clarify that their menu reflected new gluten-free choices. All in all they could serve a very large variety of pizza with toppings, salads, and pasta dishes gluten free.

Me and my girlfriend split a chopped salad with lemon-thyme dressing. It was dressed and prepped perfectly, the smoked bacon was delicious and the fresh mozzarella top quality. I ordered a regular sized pizza with their carmelized onions and peppers and homemade sausage. The pizza is thin crust style, and it is DEFINITELY and hands down THE BEST gluten free pizza I have ever had. To qualify that statement, I have had many frozen varieties, cook my own, have had Uno's, and the Boynton's in Worcester, Ma. It is the best one I have had. The crust was cook perfectly, NO much or dense/uncooked parts at all which seems so common with gluten-free pizza crust. No extra grease from cheap ingredients- just delicious, organic, a total success.

To top it off, the prices are VERY reasonable. My 12" pizza was 13.50, the salad was 7.50, her pizza was 7.50 Our dinner bill together topped around 30.00 not including tip. For the quality of the food, I consider this a bargain.

For tourists, the Cambridge, Ma location is located very conveniently near the Porter Square stop on the MBTA Red Line. There are two other locations, one in Belmont, MA and one in Needham, Ma.

Again: AMAZING.

      Welcome to the forum, @wellthatsfun! Count your blessings that you were diagnosed so young.  Your boyfriend sounds like a keeper!  Some of us old farts went undiagnosed for a long time and we're a bit more life worn, but there's a wealth of wisdom here.   Do know that many people go through a period of grief after diagnosis that's normal.  Look into the five stages of grief.  You'll adjust, but for now, venting is understandable.    Sending {{{hugs}}}

      It's on this site.  Click in my name.  Look for the pull down menu that says "Activities" and chose "blog".  Oh, there's the link!     You can send personal messages through this site, too, if you like.

      It's part of the malabsorption that occurs with Celiac Disease.  Yes, I lost weight, too.  We can use up our B vitamins quickly when we're ill.  The B vitamins are water soluble and easily lost.  Supplementing can help ensure we're getting the essential vitamins and minerals our body needs to function well.  Many vitamins can be low in the newly diagnosed.  Vitamin D can also be low.  Minerals like iron and magnesium can be low, too.  You'll feel better once you restore the nutrients.
