My chiro is the one who was the first to tell me about being gluten free. For that I am eternally grateful. I saw him tonight and was talking about this past weekend and the screw up with gluten. He told me he wants me to do this green tea fast for two days followed by 3 days of a shake while slowly reintroducing foods. He wonders if I have other food issues.

Is this necessary? I really don't have the money for the program.. will cost over a hundred dollars and since I just did the enterolab I can't afford it...

Just want your opinions... thank you.

Please save your money. If you are sick because of gluten, it will run it's course.

It's not often that we hear about a Chiroprator diagnosing people, but if the diet is helping you, great. But, are other food intolerances his line of expertise? :)

And yes he is a nutritionist as well, certified...but still...I don't know.

This just sounds so amazingly bogus to me. If you want to check for other food intolerances, switch to white rice and baked chicken with no oil or seasonings and add back foods at one/week. Keep a diary of any symptoms. If something shows up that you think may be food related, stop the newest food and see if it goes away, if it does, add back the food and see if the symptom returns. Keep going until you've made notes on all the food you normally eat.

You'll save boatloads of money, and won't be drinking weird shakes which could be full of other things you're intolerant to.

Definitely a cash grab...and it is completely unnecessary. Like Lisa said, if you got sick from gluten, it will run its course. There's no use in wasting your money. I can't stand these health care "professionals" who prey on sick people just to make a buck. It is so sleazy.

It was so hard for me to see through it because I am thankful to him for finding this in the first place. It has been ten years of countless drs and bills..so there was a measure of trust...my primary dr didn't believe it...so when he mentioned this I guess I knew deep down it sounded off... but then again I thought the gluten sounded off...

thanks you guys.. I will just keep my own journal..and remember that this will take time..I felt so good after the first week that I was surprised at the fall...

      hi, i want to say thank you to you and @trents . after 2 phone calls to my GI, her office called me back to tell me that a blood test was “unnecessary” and that we should “follow the gold standard” and since my biopsy did not indicate celiac, to follow the no dairy and sucraid diet. i luckily have expendable income and made an appt for the labcorp blood t...

      Okay that is really good to know. So with that being positive and the other being high it makes sense she diagnosed her even without the endoscopy. So glad we caught it early. She had so many symptoms though that to me it was clear something was wrong. yeah I think we had better test us and the other kids as well.

      @GlorietaKaro, your respiratory reactions to gluten make me wonder if there might also be an allergic (anaphylaxis) component at work here.

      hi, i want to say thank you to you and @trents   . after 2 phone calls to my GI, her office called me back to tell me that a blood test was “unnecessary” and that we should “follow the gold standard” and since my biopsy did not indicate celiac, to follow the no dairy and sucraid diet. i luckily have expendable income and made an appt for the labcorp blood test that day. i just got my results back and it indicates celiac disease i think 😭   im honestly happy bc now i KNOW and i can go gluten free. and i am SO MAD at this doctor for dismissing me for a simple blood test that wouldn’t have cost her anything !!!!!!!!!!! im sorry, im so emotional right now, i have been sick my whole life and never knew why, i feel so much better already   my results from labcorp:   Celiac Ab tTG TIgA w/Rflx Test Current Result and Flag Previous Result and Date Units Reference Interval t-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA 01 28 High U/mL 0-3 Negative 0 - 3 Weak Positive 4 - 10 Positive >10 Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) has been identified as the endomysial antigen. Studies have demonstrated that endomysial IgA antibodies have over 99% specificity for gluten sensitive enteropathy. Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum 01 245 mg/dL 87-352
