Does Your Child Get Sick Often?

My dd was dx'd 2yrs ago & it seems that she's always ending up in the hospital for one reason or another. She's had 3 kidney infections (has reflux), whenever she gets sick she ends up so dehydrated that it requires at least an overnight hospital stay if not longer. She recently had rectal prolapse & has to go back to see the ped GI...

Is this "normal" for a child w/Celiac? She gets sick so quickly it's not even funny. I'm so sad for her.

It sounds like she may have other food intolerances and needs some supplementing too.

The most likely food suspects after gluten are: dairy, eggs, soy, corn, yeast, nuts, peanuts and legumes and nightshades.

I would definately put her on a good probiotic to help re-populate with good bacteria and get a good multivitamin, I like the Rainbow line, personally.

My almost 3 yr old gets sick all the time. The only reason we avoid hospitals and dehydration is that she is on a feeding tube due to her failure to thrive....... We wonder the same thing and was told to start looking into a probiodic to supplement her antibodics she is constantly on......

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
