Never Knew A Glutening Could Feel So Good.

After getting glutened last weekend, I slept hours on end after work all week. Hubby did the grocery shopping again, fed himself and the pets all week. Drug my butt out of bed for work every morning, and reassured me in the middle of the night when I was screaming from nightmares.

Thursday, I rolled out of bed after sleeping off the gluten, stumbled to the kitchen and announced "I hate gluten! It has sucked up so much of my life." To which, he sweetly responded "Mine too." I was a bit confused, and confirmed that: Yes, gluten had sucked so much of his life too. I guess after missing his wife for the whole week, he was reminded of the years I spent in bed and all the things I never was able to do with him or depended on him to do for me.

I never asked him to go gluten free. (well, there was a 2 week experiment once). The man has, for the most part, just stopped bringing it home because he knows how miserable and sensitive I am. He gets it now, and it feels so good to have that support. It makes me tear up.

That's awesome! I'm so glad you have that support. My fiance is the same, but we are both still learning how sensitive I am. Some things I say don't make sense to him, but he is willing to go along with whatever makes me feel better. We're lucky (-:

Thanks Scott. They are gluten-free but cross contaminated.

Hi there @MCAyr I have a small umbilical hernia which came about during my second pregnancy.   I can just about see it, and feel it, when I stand or sit, but it is far less noticeable when I lie down.  I always know when I am putting on weight because I can get pain and burning near the site, funnily enough not on the hernia itself but either side!  I would imagine bloating could cause the same effect as weight gain. In my case I don't think it is my bowel protruding but a bit of fat  - sorry,  I realise this isn't painting a very pretty picture.  But in truth it is scarcely noticeable.  It has never really got bigger in size. I was rather hoping that it could be operated on but here in the UK they don't seem to operate on every hernia anymore.  My GP isn't remotely worried about it. In a way, I should be thankful - it is like an early warning system that I need to go on a diet! Cristiana

The hernia description would likely be unrelated to celiac disease, but you'd need to get it checked out by your doctor to be sure it's a hernia.
