My 18 month old was throwing up/diarrhea everything she ate for the past couple months, being lethargic, not eatting, etc and our specialist just had a Celiac's Panel done after the Upper GI came up negative for reflux. I'm awaiting a call from the doctor, but my MIL is a NP so I consulted her about the results - she came back with her gliadin antibody panel IgA 19 U/mL (Ref <11 U/mL, Positive >17), IgA 4 U/mL (reference Negative <11 U/mL) Can anyone tell me what this means? My MIL just said its a little high - DOES she have Celiac?

I forgot to mention - they're wanting an endoscopy to biopsy also,

I don't know about the numbers. I just wanted to let you know that the endoscopy is not so bad. My son had it at 30 months. it was done in 1/2 hour and we went home 2 hours later. He is also diabetic, so that complicated things a little. I was so nervous about it. But it was okay.

      That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

      Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

      Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

      Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
