Spelt Bread

My husband suffers from celiacs disease. We are starting the diet he so ill. I need to know if spelt bread can be eaten by celiacs. The whole foods store told me yes but, she was not to sure. I could use any advice. I feel lost

Definitely a no for celiacs. Spelt is a form of wheat. I was told by a nutritionist at first I could have spelt but that is not true.

The forbidden list from this site may help you as a guideline of what he can't have.

Spelt is really bad. I understand that it has an even higher gluten content than wheat.

      I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
