Has anyone used these products and how do you like them?

Yes! I love the Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese. However, the very experienced ladies in my support group believe that celiacs shouldn't eat soy. So, I plan on asking about it at the mega conference in May.

I was going to say the same thing as brendygirl. You gotta watch that soy. It can sneak up on you. Of all the things I'm intolerant to, soy is by far my worst. Who knew?

I tried this cream cheese and threw it out immediately... it had a terrible taste. Sorry to those who like it. I would rather not eat cream cheese than eat this brand. I'm hoping that a company comes up with a yummy cream cheese. I love cheese and miss it more than any other food.

It works great as a mix-in. I had the same reaction as Nor_TX when I first tried it. Horrid on potatoes... blech. But it makes an excellent chip dip or mix in for a recipe. No idea what to tell you about Soy, as I don't have any issues with it so far.

I basically bought it to use in my black bean cake. It worked good for that.

      Scott I also have different symptoms than most people. It affects me bad. Stomach ache, headache, nauseous, heart racing, whole body shaking, can't walk then my throat starts to close. It attacks my nervous system. The only thing that saves me is a 1/2 of Xanax...it calms down my nervous system

      Scott Adams. I was dealing with a DR that didn't care about me being celiac. I repeatedly told him that I was celiac and is everything gluten-free. He put an acrylic lens from j&j. I called the company to ask about gluten and was told yes that the acrylic they use has gluten....then they back tracked immediately and stopped talking to me. The Dr didn't care that I was having issues. It took me 6 months and a lot of sickness to get it removed.... which can only happen within 6 months. The Dr that took it out said that it was fused and that's why I lost vision. If they would have removed it right away everything would be fine. He put in a silicone one that was gluten-free and I've had no issues at all in the other eye. Do not do acrylic!

      Welcome @Martha Mitchell, I too would like to know more about your prior lenses, and especially about the potential of gluten in lenses. In theory this should not harm most celiacs, as the autoimmune reaction normally begins in the gut, however, in those who are super sensitive or have dermatitis herpetiformis it may be a potential issue.

      It's most likely going to be a celiac disease diagnosis based on your blood test results, but wait for your doctor to give you a green light for going gluten-free, as they may want to do additional testing. This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):
