Hi all -

Just wondering if any of you could take a look at this ingredient list and tell me if it is gluten free. Everytime I use this product my eyelids get red and they burn - trying to figure out if there's a gluten derived ingredient in it or if it's something else that I'm reacting to.

Here's the list and thanks in advance!!!!

Ingredients

Cyclopentasiloxane , Cyclohexasiloxane , Isohexadecane , Triisostearin ,Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer , Beeswax , Octyl Isononanoate , PTFE ,Quaternium-90 Bentonite , Tribehenin , C18-36 Acid Triglyceride ,Phenoxyethanol , Propylene Carbonate , Bismuth Oxychloride ,Cyclotetrasiloxane , Methylparaben , Propylparaben , Mica , Titanium Dioxide ,Iron Oxides

May Contain Ingredients

Carmine

Hi! I don't see anything in there that typically contains gluten, but there are a few common irritants in there that I (being gluten intolerant) am also sensitive to:

Bismuth Oxychloride--a common irritant, but typically added to makeup (esp. mineral makeup) to create shine or shimmer, bismuth oxychloride is actually a heavy metal and known to cause skin irritation

Methylparaben , Propylparaben--these estrogen mimicers can wreak all kinds of havoc on the body, including cause skin irritation, but if you've never noticed a reaction to a skin lotion or other topical product that contains parabens, this one is not likely the culprit in this case

Carmine--another common "natural" or mineral makeup ingredient, but also a common irritant, I stopped using a lot of very "safe/natural" products that contain this red pigment--it's one of the only true reds found in nature, but guess where it comes from--it's derived from ground beetle abdomens

Bismuth and Carmine are the most likely, so I'd check any other products that have irritated in the past to see if they contain either of these ingredients.

I honestly couldn't tell you, but they make my eyes burn too! You may want to investigate some other brands that offer a similar, much better product than companies like Mary Kay. My favorites so far -- that don't bother my skin -- are Too Faced and Urban Decay's primer potion in Sin. I haven't had an issue with them. If you go some place like UTLA or Sephora, you can try them first, see how it feels, then decide to purchase WITH a good return policy. :)

Thanks for the tips! It was given to me as a gift, so I'm not loyal to the company or anything and have no problem switching :-)

I am allergic to Mary Kay products. Still have a few scars on my face from outbreaks from wearing her makeup for a short while. I tried her eye shadow again, oh, 15 years later a few years back, and had the same reaction that you mentioned. I returned it and have never investigated why.

I have trouble with nausea. It often starts when I’m anxious about something (home repairs, sick dog) but continues long after the home is repaired or the dog is healthy again. When it happens I eat less and lose weight.  My gastroenterologist suggested ginger or peppermint tea. I don’t know if that will work or not because I haven't had the problem since she suggested it.

Hello  I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.  Horrible pain..plus acid reflux and nausea... sensitivity to touch pain. ..yikes !! I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you

Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.

Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-Free.

Hi all  I was diagnosed Coeliac a few years ago and follow a gluten free diet. The list of foods that I can eat without a problem grows shorter on a weekly basis. [I also have diabetes and asthma also].  BUT the reason I am posting this is because I seem to struggle with nausea quite a lot, which is really quite debilitating, and I was wondering if others suffer from nausea, even if following a gluten free diet.
