Hi There,

I was wondering on the vega protein powders.....they say gluten-free but contain wheat and barley grass....I called the company direct and they said they have all products tested and are below the celiac standards.....I am still worried but have not been able to find another exceptable yummy tasting protein powder that is gluten-free and Dairy free....and it can't be whey....

I found out the hard way that I react to barley and wheat grass the same as I do to a slice of bread. I wouldn't touch the stuff.

Have you looked into any of the Hemp protein powders? I don't remember the name but there was one that I used to use that was dairy and gluten and soy free.

Thanks i think you are right..I have tried there other products in the past and felt OK...now being 100%% gluten-free and basically not eatting anything that does not say gluten-free on the package...or even if it does not buying questionable foods like this one....i have been feeling so so so much better..I dont think it is worth the chance....I did find one yesterday in my searches that looks good and has great reviews....Manitoba Harvest...hemp pro 70 mix it right in water and go...pretty tastey and very convenient....thanks again for your help

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
