Why Does My Google Profile Picture Appear With My Posts?

I deliberately did not put the picture I use in my Google account profile for my celiac.com profile. Still, when I search for my username and find my posts, it's there. What gives?

Did you join us by linking from another service? If so, some information is automatically shared. If you don't want the avatar or personal photo that you have, you can easily remove them.

To the right of your name, which appears in the upper right corner, is an inverted triangle. Click it to access a pull-down menu. Select "My Profile" and then choose "Edit My Profile" (green button in upper right). The menu will have, on the left, "Change Avatar" and "Change Photo." In both cases, the next level page allows you to change or remove the image.

BTW, the image that appears with your posts is your Avatar, and is seen only by registered users who are signed in.

Thanks. I didn't realize there was an avatar as well as a picture. Also, I deliberately did not link my account to anything. I suspect it pulled it in via my email address. Thanks again.

Would that be more likely if,

one signs in with their Facebook a/c or via Open ID rather than E-mail and password.

Best Regards,

Your response on this matter is what I expect. You’ve had a similar episode years ago, but this one is lasting longer!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?

Thank you for the links to the articles.  Interesting reading. I'll be telling my brother in law because he has a lot of pain
