Babysitting

I just got a job babysitting. I was wondering if people have tips for cooking gluten containing food. I haven't cooked any since I went gluten free last year. I will be cooking dinner for the kids. I know to wash my hands really well when I am done cooking and not to taste any of the food to see if it is done (I'll have to use the kids for this one) but I was wondering if there are other tips people have. I can't just not take the job because I need it, so that isn't an option.

Thanks.

As long as your not baking with flour you should be fine. If you wanted you could get some powderfree plastic gloves at your local pharmacy, I get them for stuff like painting and using glues etc. I get medical grade and usually find them near the stuff for diabetes. Have fun with the kids and if you can have them eat at the table and have them wash their hands both before and after eating.

Wash your hands and you'll be fine. Clean the kids up after so they don't get their crumbs all over you if they are little and will hug you and whatnot.

Thank you for your input. It makes me a lot more relaxed.

My kids get me because they run up and kiss me on the mouth with gluten on their lips. I doubt kids you babysit will do that. Also my toddler gets ahold of my water bottle. So I have to babysit my water bottle if she's eating gluten and I have a no kissing policy if they have it.

I’m in a flare up with rib pain. I read where others have experienced this after exposure to gluten.  Has anyone found something that eases the pain.

Scott Adams/Trents - Thanks!  I will definitely do some more research.  I welcome any and all advice.

Yes, I've read that online but I was just surprised that no one has mentioned it on this forum specifically.  We have not had our follow up meeting with the Dr where I'm sure she will advise as to how he needs to deal with this ailment.  I have learned from past health issues - if you want to find the REAL truth - talk to someone living with the disease.  THEY will know way more than any doctor ever could.    Thanks for responding.
