Things To Boost My Child's Immune System?

Well, my little girl is on the mend finally. Isn't that always the case? I bring her to the doctor worried sick, looking like a neurotic mother, then of course she gets better!

I still have no clue what was wrong with her, but she was holding her head at one point and screaming. Talk about freaking me out. We had to force her to take some motrin, which I hate doing....but she perked right up about 20 minutes later and has been better ever since. I'm still giving her Motrin every now and then, she still isn't 100% but she's not crying all day, so much improved.

She has been sick alot since starting the diet, which baffles me. The only thing I can figure is that it's similar to what happens to adults when they "destress" You know how you can go,go,go...then we you finally take it easy, you get sick? That's the only thing I can liken it to.

Is there anything I can give her to boost her immune system? Also, she is still developmentally behind, and wondering what is out there to increase brain power as well. At the moment, we are still playing the "wait and see" game with her speech and comprehension, but she's nearly 3 1/2 and in my opinion acts more like an 18month - 2 year old. It's really hard to wait and see while I can see my 14 month old quickly catching up to her. I've heard that there are some vitamins that are helpful for the brain.

Thanks in advance for any info!

Hi,

I really feel for you, I know you must be worried and about ready to pull your hair out. These are a few things I though of just off the top of my head. Are you giving a good multi-vitamin? Also, we've started adding extra vitamin C. You might also look into giving your child a probiotic that's designed for kids. The omega's are great for brain development, skin, and immunity etc. I having been giving my child digestive enzymes to help take the stress off her system. There are also some herbs that are made for children to help with the immune system when you think they're becoming ill. I would be happy to share more info. with you if you want to send me a message.

I've been trying to boost our childs immune system also. Most of the time they want to perscribe a med. that actually supresses her immune system.....go figure.

Take care and I hope this helps.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
