thank you all soooo much! I have FINALLY gained back some of my weight (i am 5'8'') so I am up to 107 :) my energy levels are up so much - I am back to making 'to-do' lists whereas before I had no interest in anything but dragging my butt through the day. my scalp is slowly clearing up (i am avoiding iodine, thanks guys!) I am still taking baby steps as far as the diet but I am so 'in tune' with my body now that I know what to avoid and how to tell the difference about what is bothering my still-healing intestines. I am craving the cigarettes less (i had quit before I was pregnant and the pregnancy triggered all my digestive issues, soooooo....) I honestly thought I was going to waste away to nothing and die. all my clothes were hanging off of me. this has only been THREE WEEKS and I feel like I am 'sparkly' again! (if that makes any sense lol) and I know that I still have a lot of improvement to come. I am getting my sense of smell back and yesterday I stood on one foot. so I feel like at least I'm firing on 6 out of 8. I am skipping dairy for now (i crave it so much its killing me not to have it - did I hear somebody say something about hard cheeses or cream being easier to digest??) but feeling pretty awesome. still learning what works for me, but I feel at least 10 yrs younger!

a few funnies:

1. don't try to drink all your chardonnay at the rock show before it gets spilled on you. pretty embarassing when the band hasta come looking for you cuz yer juiced lolol

2. I had to learn to pass gas again. I was running to the bathroom bcuz I forgot what it was (it was always the big D)

3. yuk yuk what do you call a slice of wheat bread on a paper towel?? Gluteny on the Bounty HAHAHAHA ok ill shut up now :)))

seriously thanx for the advice, kind words and moral support. I think I'm in the right place to pay it forward :) *smooches!!*

Glad to hear your feeling better and congrats on the weight gain. Soon you'll be filling your clothes out nicely.

As to the dairy, when you add it back go with hard cheeses like cheddar and yogurt at first. You may want to wait a bit longer though. Sometimes the things we crave the most are the things we need to stay away from.

Love that line about the bread on a towel. :D:D

Whoo hoo! What great progress. To me 4 lbs. is a really big deal and something worth celebrating. I get it. I understand how it is to be really underweight.

I've been gluten free for 3 weeks also and it feels great. Congratulations on gaining 4 pounds.

Yes, I, too, have osteoporosis from years of malabsorption, too.  Thiamine and magnesium are what keep the calcium in place in the bones.  If one is low in magnesium, boron, selenium, zinc, copper, and other trace minerals, ones bone heath can suffer.  We need more than just calcium and Vitamin D for strong bones.  Riboflavin B 2, Folate B 9 and Pyridoxine B 6 also contribute to bone formation and strength.   Have you had your thyroid checked?  The thyroid is important to bone health as well.  The thyroid uses lots of thiamine, so a poorly functioning thyroid will affect bone heath.

That sounds so very likely in my case! I will absolutely ask my doctor on my next bone check coming up in March... Thanks a lot!

Calcium levels as measured in the blood can be quite deceiving as the body will rob calcium from the bones to meet demands for it by other bodily functions. Also, supplementing with calcium can be counterproductive as it tends to raise gut pH and decrease absorption. More often than not, the problem is poor absorption to begin with rather than deficiency of intake amounts in the diet. Calcium needs an acidic environment to be absorbed. This is why so many people on PPIs develop osteoporosis. The PPIs raise gut pH. And some people have high gut PH for other reasons. Low pH equates to a more acidic environment whereas high pH equates to a more basic (less acidic) environment.

Kind thanks for all this valuable information! Since my Folate was/is low and also my Calcium, there IS a chance I am low in B vitamins... My doctor only measured the first two, oh and Zinc as I has twisted her arm and guess what, that was mega low too. So who knows, until I get myself tested properly, what else I am deficient in... I did a hair mineral test recently and it said to avoid All sources of Calcium. But this is confusing for me as my Ca is so low and I have osteoporosis because of this. It is my Adjusted Ca that is on the higher side and shouldn't be. So am not sure why the mineral test showed high Ca (well, it was medium in the test but relative to my lowish Magnesium, also via hair sample, it was high I was told). But anyway, thanks again for the VitB download, I will look into this most certainly!

Hello good afternoon, I was wondering if anyone has ever brought their anti-allergy pills? I have been wanting to use their Cetirizine HCI 10mg. They are called HealthA2Z and distributed by Allegiant Health.I’m also Asthmatic and these allergies are terrible for me but I also want to be sure they don’t have any sort of gluten compound.    I have tried calling them but to no avail. Has anyone ever used them? If so, did you had any problems or no problems at all?    thank you
