IL's Are Really Trying!

Today is my baby boy's birthday - he's THREE today!

We had dinner at the IL's to celebrate. Originally the plan was to have them over for dinner, but it's been a really bad week for us and we all decided to switch to eating over there. I made gluten-free cupcakes to bring, and there was absolutely no grief about it.

In fact, they actually researched gluten-free recipes and cooked a gluten-free casserole for us! MIL and I had a little chat about gluten-free food - she commented that gluten-free recipes seem to be heavy on the fat and sugar. I replied that some of the gluten-copy type stuff can be, but we usually try to just combine whole healthy foods to eat gluten-free at home. Like the other night I made Shepherd's Pie... she said "I love Shepherd's Pie!" and I could kinda see the light bulb lol.

It was a really nice, snark-free, worry-free evening. :)

That's great! Congrats on getting her to understand. :D (We need that little cheer emoticon some boards have!)

That's great to hear. Glad you had a good time. Happy Birthday to your little one. They grow up way to fast.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
