Undiagnosed Illness 6 Years

Just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone :) (and hope I've picked the right section to post ?

I've been undiagnosed for just on 6 years now, many different symptoms, my own research lead me here B) no harm in trying the gluten free diet even though testing was negative.

After reading several pages here it seems alot of people suffer a whole range of health problems you'd never think gluten intolerance could answer for .....

Anyway I hope to find the answers to my undiagnosed illness, still struggling after all this time so I've just started the gluten free diet this week

Cheers

Samantha

Welcome to the board. I hope you are feeling better soon. There is a lot of support here. Ask any questions you need to as the first couple months can be difficult.

Thanks for the welcome :D

Im shocked at how many people have health issues because of undiagnosed gluten intolerance, I feel like I've hit a gold mine with all this info !

Cheers

Have you gone gluten free or are you getting tested first?

undiagnosedillness Newbie

I haven't had any testing done in years, once back in 2005 which was negative. I have no faith in Doctors so just trying my luck with a gluten free diet because I've got alot of bowel issues and the first week gluten free I must say feels good, sorry if too much info but I haven't been constipated this week and that is very very rare for me so I must be onto something :)

PS- I've had so many tests/scans in the past which all came back normal so I just don't trust Doctor or machines these days.

I've tested positive to IBS, Fibromyalgia, Costochondritis, Neuropathic pain, the list is endless I could go on and on  and Doctors can't help me so it's time for some big Diet changes, I really didn't think food could cause so much pain but perhaps it is causing some of my health concerns ???

Sorry I tend to babble abit :D

Samantha

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
