A Fun Email I Got....

I just had to post this somewhere, because when I was in an anxious mood, it made me laugh. And if something can make me laugh when my anxiety is as bad as it was when I read this, then it must be good. Strangely it's one of the few good emails I got from my Grandfather who forwards EVERYTHING he ever gets in his inbox. Though, I gotta admit, for a 91 year old, he's pretty good with a computer. He can obviously do things my mother can't do. (My mom is the type of person who asks how to save, or how to quit out of a program... That kind of thing.) But anyway, here is an obituary about someone I miss dearly... (And who's death is evident in my workplace. *grin*)

An Obituary printed in the London Times -Interesting and sadly rather true.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many

years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic

red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;

- Why the early bird gets the worm;

- Life isn't always fair;

- and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and

reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set

in lace. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens

suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly

student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they

themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or

an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to

have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals

received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own

home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a

steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a

huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by his wife,

Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;

I Know My Rights

I Want It Now

Someone Else Is To Blame

I'm A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this

on. If not, join the majority and do nothing

That is very funny and so true!

My hub & I were just talking about the lack of common sense in a lot of the teenagers we know. Don't know how to make a sandwich when given the ingredients, etc.

Rowena Rising Star

It aint jus teenagers neither. I have one coworker who always is late and takes a two hour lunch when he already has an extended lunch break. And he never calls to let you know he is runnin late. Drives me crazy.

I got another coworker who you have to explain everythin in thorough detail, includin things like why you take off stickies to copy somethin and then you replace them on the original where they work. Yeah I'se pretty sure people actually want to read what is on the copies. Not have random white patches all over makin ye wonder what should be there. This same coworker also calls in an hour and a half after her shift is s'posed to start sayin she wont be there, and meanwhile nothin is gettin done 'cause no one is there to do it. HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Another coworker sat around bloggin and leavin projects to pile up for the rest of us to do. So here we are workin our rears off, and she's sittin there bloggin away.

The second coworker I mentioned had to actually be told that when you get a project, you do it exactly as they tell you. And if you have questions call. And she also had to be told to keep things in the order that they are handed to you. No one wants a project that goes 1, 6, 3, 10... yadda yadda yadda. Seriously. And she was never told that she needed to double check her work. For Heavens sake!

That's a good post Rowena.

Well, my son's school keeps the epi-pens in a stack on top of a filing cabinet in an office in back of the the main office. They could be used as a weapon and are meds and kids are not supposed to be in possesion of either. Sigh...shaking my head...so if they are needed a kid is sent running down stairs(if on the 2nd floor to the office to retrieve it...that's the actual plan...I kid you not!

Missys Mom... Now thats a lack of common sense if I ever heard it.

I have to rant about another lack of common sense. Let me preface this with the fact that I dont use my cell phone at work for two reasons.

1) I believe its rude when in a professional environment (I work in a law firm)

2) I have my own extension at work anyway.

Anyway, in my firm we often get maps and other oversize documents. So we send those documents across the street to be copied/scanned on machines that are large enough to do the full image. (Also note, there are only two people in the copyroom who have access passes to the building. One in the mornin, one in the afternoon.) Well, we (on Friday) had one such project. It was given to the morning person who dropped it off. So she gives the document center my personal number, even though she knows my extension. But whatever thats nothin.

So today I get a call on my cell phone, and I reject it, because I dont answer at work, like i said. They call again. Again I reject it. So not thinkin it was time sensitive, I wait till I get off work to call back. "Please leave a message for the Document Center." What the heck, now I am gonna have attorneys on my case.

So, tell, isnt it common sense to tell someone you gave out their number, and to expect a call, and tell them what it is concerning? And also isnt it common sense to ask before ye give out someone's private number?

(Don't worry I set her straight, very nicely of course.)

      Though trying to diligently eat gluten free, recent bloodwork was bad so searching for culprits.  Eat lot of (preferably mixed) nuts.  Most allergen labels say may be processed on equpment that also processes wheat, etc.  Finally found ONE kind (unsalted mixed) at BJ's.  Wessley (their store brand) that did not contain that warning.  Says in large letters "A GLUTEN FREE FOOD."  Well, all nuts are a gluten free FOOD!  Have been eating and now wonder if this is intentionally decieving.  So stopped eating until find culprit.  Nuts are so good for protein and fiber (especially if trying to not eat meat).  'Tis so frustrating.  Thanks to above, I'll look into Tierra Farms.

      Despite being very diligent about eating gluten free, my recent bloodwork was bad.  So been on a mission to find the culprit(s).  During Covid my daughter found "certified gluten free" Yasso mint chocolate chip yogurt bars at Costco.  I was elated and have been eating them since.  When delving into possible culprits I discovered that the boxes with 12 bars at both Costco and BJ's no longer say "certified gluten free."  But the boxes with 4 bars at groceries and Target still say "certified gluten free."  Contacted the manufacturer and was told to go by what the box says.  So guess different machinery is used.  Was also told they were in the process of changing boxes.  Will be interesting to see what that brings.

      Before I could call them (after all my research), Costco Pharmacy called and told me they found a generic gluten-free levothyroxine.  Was told name is Amneal brand.  Said they called and company  confirmed is gluten free.  Only one I had found was Lannett so did more research and found:  “BRIDGEWATER, N.J., Nov. 12, 2018.  Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NYSE: AMRX) today announced that it has completed a transition agreement with Lannett Company. Under the terms of the agreement, Amneal will take over the distribution and marketing of Levothyroxine sodium tablets from Lannett beginning December 1, 2018 through March 23, 2019, ahead of when the Company's previously announced 10-year Levothyroxine distribution agreement with Jerome Stevens begins on March 23, 2019.” So looks like we’re good until at least 6/23/29.  Active ingredients are colloidal silicon dioxide, lactose, magnesium stearate, CORN STARTCH, acacia, sodium startch glycolate. Bottom line:  We can tell our pharmacists we need gluten-free, generic Amneal brand Levothyroxine.   AMEN.

      Given your severe symptoms it sounds like you would be much better off going 100% gluten-free!
