Pepsi Throwback

Pepsi recently came out with the throwback with sugar instead of HFCS. I thought it was great and it tasted so good after not having it for so long. They discontinued it a while ago. In the last couple of weeks I have found it again in a couple of stores. It is in a white bottle like they use for the diet Pepsi. I just got my second bottle of it and I could swear it is diet pepsi. It has the same aftertaste as diet pop and just doesn't taste like the sugared pepsi. I am starting to wonder if they are trying to use up the bottles or if someone in the plant is messing up. Am I nuts or have other people noticed it also?

I love the stuff--we just bought a 12 pack of it at Shop Rite last weekend. It tasted good--not like diet soda at all. My husband would have caught it in a second if it was.

Also, my husband was talking to someone at Pepsi (the company he works for does business with them) and this person told him that the Throwback was at first a limited time thing, but they have reconsidered that and are going to make it part of their regular line. Hope that's true.

Raven--I would take it back....maybe it got mixed up somehow at the plant?

Maybe it went bad? I have only seen the Throwback around here in cans. We have Mexican Coke or Pepsi in bottles. It's made with sugar.

As a Pepsi lover that has done without for 6 months, I'm thinking of hunting down a few bottles, because I am corn free..Just for a treat : )

I was able to pick up a 12 pack this past week. I put off trying it for awhile ( chicken, I know :) . My children both tried it and didn't like it because they thought it was too sweet. I finally tried it and agree it's sweet, but after not drinking a soft drink for 7 months it was a good treat!! I didn't react to it either. We have the Mountain Dew throw back as well. I wouldn't drink these everyday, but it's nice to have on hand!

@cristiana Hi, thank you so much, I will look into those books for sure! And get bloodwork at my next appointment. I have never been told I have TMJ, but I have seen information on it and the nerve issue while googling this devil plague in my mouth. Thank you so much for the advice!

Peanut Butter cookies - on the crisp side.   approx 20 smallish cookies  1 C  plus 2 tblsp rounded. 'natural' peanut butter ( the kind you have to stir to blend the PB & oils)....  I know, it's a pain!! 1/2 c granulated sugar ....plus 2 tblsp dark brown sugar 1/4 c olive oil... plus 1 tblsp 1 large egg .....and 1 tsp vanilla 2 tsp cinnamon - optional but is yummy with the PB mix the above.  In another bowl mix the following dry ingredients: 1 cup brown rice flour  ( I use this  flour as it leaves no yucky after taste in my cookies & lb cakes..... and coffee cake, I buy it at the "Bulk Barn" here in Canada....... states side try health food stores??? I'm not sure where you can buy bulk food that also carries gluten free flours. 1/2 tsp baking soda.....1/4 tsp salt   (I use the pink sea salt) Mix well or sift, then mix with wet ingredients. heat oven to 350f, line baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll about 2 tblsp dough between your hands, place on cookie sheet and press down  with a fork.   The flatter the cookie the crispier it is.     Bake 13-14 min  When done leave on baking sheet till cool. Cheers, Florence

I know it's after the holidays, but it would still be fun to do a cookie recipe exchange on this forum.

I did talk to the nurse and she asked who told me no red meat.  I explained the person who called with the results of my blood work.  That was last week.  She told me the doctor was on vacation and would be back this week and she would talk to him and have someone call me this week.  I have not received a call yet.  I will call them back Monday as a reminder.
