Tired After Kimminick Bagels

I am 4 months into the diet and seem to be doing well at this point i have in the past had severe reactions to gluten-free bread and pasta.I am however realzing that as time goes on my reactions are either gone or getting less and less so i cut out bread and pasta for a month or 2 and now i tried a gluten free kimminick tapioca bagel was actually very good but i realised after i felt an overwheling feeling of tiredness any opnions on why??? has anyone else had the same reactions to gluten-free breads and such???

Aside from any reaction to the ingredients in gluten-free baked goods, the carbs in them can cause blood sugar spikes which are followed by drops. That can cause a person to feel sleepy after eating. That whole passing out after the Thanksgiving meal is no joke, that's why people feel that way-the impact of all those carbs.

If you want to explore the blood sugar impact, try the bagel with a good amount of protein(preferably meat or eggs) and some fat and see if that makes any difference. 2-4 oz. of meat is what I would recommend. Both protein and fat slow the digestion and so slow the rate at which the carbs from that bagel hit your blood stream as glucose. Make sure you don't do as my son likes to and eat all the carbs first and then the protein. Kinda defeats the purpose. Have some bites of meat/protein first. No juice.

If the results areen't satisfactory enough, try it again with only half a bagel.

      I put on over 12kg by eating protein with every meal, 3 to 5 times a day. Eggs, Chicken, Tuna, Turkey etc. I stay away from too much red meat as it can be inflammatory. Scott is correct. I've come across a bunch of Coeliac PT's on Tiktok and Instagram. They all say the same thing, the key is getting enough protein and consistency.

Remember, consistency with these short sessions and prioritizing post-workout recovery, including good sleep and hydration, are just as crucial as the workouts themselves. It's a smart, gradual process at any age.

      Trader Joe's carries a good variety of affordable gluten-free foods like bagels, hamburger buns, pasta, etc. I like Franz Gluten Free bread, which is available at my local Costco. Food For Life and Little Northern Bakehouse (advertisers here) also make excellent gluten-free breads. Costco also sells gluten-free pizzas, crackers, gravy, etc.
