Dry aged beef is delicious! As far as I can tell it is gluten free.....i enjoyed a lovely steak last night with baked potato and butter...salt and pepper, that's it. The dinner was at home, the home (including the grill) is completely gluten free....i feel like i've been glutened...anyone ever had a reaction to dry aged beef????

Dry-aged beef is beef that has been hung to dry for several weeks. After the animal is slaughtered and cleaned, either an entire half will be hung, or primal cuts (large distinct sections) will be placed in a cooler, also known as a "hot box". This process involves considerable expense, as the beef must be stored at or near freezing temperatures. Also, only the higher grades of meat can be dry aged, as the process requires meat with a large, evenly distributed fat content. For these reasons one seldom sees dry-aged beef outside of steak restaurants and upscale butcher shops. The key effect of dry aging is the concentration of the flavor. It is generally accepted that the taste of dry-aged beef is almost incomparable to that of wet-aged, with four weeks being a recommended minimum.

The process enhances beef by two means. First, moisture is evaporated from the muscle. This creates a greater concentration of beef flavor and taste. Second, the beef

Yeah, i found the same thing on Wikipedia....and you're right, there doesn't appear to be any gluten in it. It could be the mold :( I am going to eat it again and see if i get sick!

If you have followed any of my other posts, I do not hide the fact that I am a proud carnivore. I have friends who used to work at a variety of the non-profit meat boards and you should be good to go on aged beef.

I believe you that it's probably the best meat that you have ever had in your life. I feel the same.

PS - My parents own two steak restaurants for 26+ years. I love dry aged beef.

Enjoy, enjoy and enjoy!

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
