Help With Test Results

Hello everyone, This is my first post here and hoping for some insight. I have been having GI issues for the last 9 months. They have consisted of abdominal pain, gas, diarrhea, constipation, loss of appetite at times, weight loss of 40 pounds from August to February. I also have fatigue, sleep disturbance (waking very early, 4:30 or 5:00, and can't get back to sleep), joint and muscle pain when the GI issues are flared up. I have had a couple of periods within the 9 months when I felt much better, even good, for a few weeks. I have had an upper endoscopy and colonscopy (no biopsy because nothing was seen to warrant one) negative, gall bladder ultrasound & HIDA scan negative, and gastric emptying study negative. My test results for celiac: TTG antibody IGA <3 scale being >8 positive, gliadin antibody IGG <3 scale being >17 positive, gliadin antibody IGA 61 scale being >17 positive, endomysial AB IGA screen negative and lactoferrin, stool, negative.

The NP at the GI office said I am negative for celiac and that the gliadiin IGA being positive indicated an immune problem and to follow up with my PCP. I asked about going gluten-free and she said that would be fine and it may help me. Everything I see on the web links the positive IGA to either gluten sensitivity or celiac. Is there anything else it can indicate? I would love to hear any insight on my results. At this point, I feel like I can't eat anything. I'm actually having trouble swallowing food, my mouth is dry and I just feel like I can't get it down. I'm sure this may be anxiety related to all the discomfort and lack of sleep making me react this way. I really need some answers because I do not want to lose any more weight. I do have a hydrogen breath test tomorrow morning to screen for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and a CTE of the small bowel on Friday to make sure there are no tumors or anything there.

Thanks for your help!

Was the card itself lost or just the record or both?

We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. My wife tried to open it in the store and was informed there had been a system change and they could not find the record. No worries, she was told, just talk to management. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen  I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce.   Something is making my pain so much worse  I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs.  Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever would do. I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
