Celiac And Chemical Imbalance

My son was diagnosed Celiac in December 2007. In May of 2008, he was "diagnosed" ADHD. His ADHD is actually a chemical imbalance...high adrenaline and low serotonin. Administering meds is not high on my list of treatment right now. We tried stimulants and non-stimulants. Little success, plus am concenred about long-term affects. Would rather find natural approach IF possible.

He is on a strict gluten-free diet, but I wonder if he is eating improperly even on the gluten-free diet. It appears the imbalance might be worsened by eating too many refined carbs. By descriptions I've read, he almost sounds hypoglygemic. He usually eats two bowls of cereal each morning plus turkey sausages. PB&J on gluten-free bread for lunch. Lots of strawberries, apples and bananas. Loves white rice and gluten-free pasta. Won't eat eggs or potatoes.

Anyone have similar challenge with behaviorally challenge celiac kid?

you might try cross posting on the behavoir board (all the way down on the bottom) - i didn't realize it was there and posted my similar thread here too but you might get adults with celiac who might know there too.

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
