Just wondering if there is anyone local on here. It would be great to compare notes.

Was just there for a long weekend, very impressed at availability of gluten-free food and willing of the hotel we were at to ensure our son (he's the celiac) did not get gluten-ed.

In vancouver but very familiar with victoria from working there. Off to van isl tomorrow actually! Feel free to contact me by email and will give you names of others in victoria also that I know from the cca victoria chapter which covers vancouver island.       Yes, @trents is right, ascorbic acid can be irritating. Do you take it with food? Do you take other supplements or vitamins? Do you eat processed meats? Is your diet high in carbohydrates?

      Burning Sensation in the small intestine

      Be careful with C supplementation. It's ascorbic "acid". Too much can cause stomach and gut irritation.

      Thanks for the info, Its one I've not used before its got Noni Fruit, Astragalus Root in it as a prebiotic. As i never eat fruit it might be a cause.

      Hi, I'm new, thank you for accepting me and I apologize if this has been asked before.  I didn't realize till recently that Celiac disease affects your teeth and gums, I have always had weak teeth and bad gums. And for going on 3 months now, I have been having such severe, throbbing, burning pain in my mouth, teeth and tongue. I have spent most of the time curled up in a ball, sobbing with ice packs on my face. It's only the left side. I have been treated for sinus infections and thrush. I had a canker sore on the roof of my mouth, my tongue was coated and I had the crusty stuff in the corners of my mouth. No one knows what it is, or how to cure it. Anyone else have this?
