Hi there,

I didn't realize communities like this existed until about 5 minutes ago when I stumbled across the forum, so whomever created this thank you! I think it is going to help me a lot now. I'm a diagnosed Celiac from birth now 22 years (I know its not that long aha) and have been in somewhat denial on and off over the years and have not stuck to my diet due to not having any symptoms at all? This normal, but I've decided it's not worth the risk and am going to try and go straight onto a gluten-free diet starting now.

Looking forward to joining in on the community.

Steven.

Hi Steven!

B)

I am new here and have not be formally diagnosed yet. I had a Celiac Panel drawn up almost 2 weeks ago and I am STILL waiting on the results! So as you have probably figured out I have not adopted the gluten free diet as of yet. I am still having symptoms that I am convinced are from celiac disease so if I get a negative I will be shocked!!

Anyway......welcome and I agree this is a FANTASTIC place!!! I have learned so much in my short time here!!

Take care and I look forward to getting to know you!!!

:D

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.

To evaluate the TTG antibody result we’d need to know the normal range for that lab.  Labs don’t all use the same units.  However, based on any normal ranges that I’ve seen and the listed result being greater than a number rather than a specific number, I’d say yes, that is high! Higher than the range where the test can give a quantitative result. You got good advice not to change your diet yet.  If you went gluten free your intestines would start to heal, confusing any further testing,
