I Had The Old Test For Celiac Disease

They would not base his illness (or lack their of) on his children. The point is irrelevant.

Karl,

I can't say if this info is correct. He is a lawyer trying to get business but it sounds reasonable. Might be worth a look.

You may need to get a disability lawyer specializing in the military to help you. Many regular disability lawyers do not collect any fees until you get benefits. You appear to be very confused on what you need to prove. Your illness probably makes it hard to think straight sometimes.

Proving your children are yours, doesn't seem relevant. My kids do not have Celiac, that doesn't mean I don't have Celiac.

Is there a way of adding photos to a meessage to show what I looked like back in the olden days? You would see how skinny I was and thin and under weight. Remember, I was in the US Army back then. We did exercise every day before breakfast so, comon sense tells you, I should have built up muscles and muscle tone. I also would have put on weight and body mass. So, why would I be thin, small chest, under weight, and no muscles after 2 solid years of military service.

Yes, you can post pictures. First you must place them on a linkable site like photobucket. Then, enclose the url for the picture in IMG tags.

For example,

produces

You are only entitled to disability from your service if you had a service associated disability. My DS, for example, was an undiagnosed celiac when he was in the Army and recieved a medical discharge. He was told he could get 10% disability because jumping out of planes blew out his knees but he never applied because there were other things he could do that didn't involve jumping out of planes and even though many of his issues were caused by celiac that was not something that the military service caused. Celiac is not a service associated disability, your being in the service did not cause your celiac. It is not unusual for us to go years without being diagnosed and to take years to heal. I was diagnosed in 2002 and just went back to work this week. I did not qualify for SSI even with a large number of issues that came from undiagnosed celiac and non-celiac related PTSD. I wasn't able to work for over 10 years and got no help at all. You are fortunate that you were able to get SSI and I hope you eventually recover enough to go back to work. I think it is highly unlikely that you will get any service related compensation.

As a Celiac who works in Social Security and Veterans Disability, this is true. That being said, Karl, you probably should talk to someone about your potential veterans benefits. Reading between the lines, it seems there might be more going on here and that some of it may qualify you for benefits.

If I can offer advice to anyone on either SSDI or veterans benefits I have worked in those fields for a decade now and am happy to answer questions. Just PM me.

Yes, I, too, have osteoporosis from years of malabsorption, too.  Thiamine and magnesium are what keep the calcium in place in the bones.  If one is low in magnesium, boron, selenium, zinc, copper, and other trace minerals, ones bone heath can suffer.  We need more than just calcium and Vitamin D for strong bones.  Riboflavin B 2, Folate B 9 and Pyridoxine B 6 also contribute to bone formation and strength.   Have you had your thyroid checked?  The thyroid is important to bone health as well.  The thyroid uses lots of thiamine, so a poorly functioning thyroid will affect bone heath.

That sounds so very likely in my case! I will absolutely ask my doctor on my next bone check coming up in March... Thanks a lot!

Calcium levels as measured in the blood can be quite deceiving as the body will rob calcium from the bones to meet demands for it by other bodily functions. Also, supplementing with calcium can be counterproductive as it tends to raise gut pH and decrease absorption. More often than not, the problem is poor absorption to begin with rather than deficiency of intake amounts in the diet. Calcium needs an acidic environment to be absorbed. This is why so many people on PPIs develop osteoporosis. The PPIs raise gut pH. And some people have high gut PH for other reasons. Low pH equates to a more acidic environment whereas high pH equates to a more basic (less acidic) environment.

Kind thanks for all this valuable information! Since my Folate was/is low and also my Calcium, there IS a chance I am low in B vitamins... My doctor only measured the first two, oh and Zinc as I has twisted her arm and guess what, that was mega low too. So who knows, until I get myself tested properly, what else I am deficient in... I did a hair mineral test recently and it said to avoid All sources of Calcium. But this is confusing for me as my Ca is so low and I have osteoporosis because of this. It is my Adjusted Ca that is on the higher side and shouldn't be. So am not sure why the mineral test showed high Ca (well, it was medium in the test but relative to my lowish Magnesium, also via hair sample, it was high I was told). But anyway, thanks again for the VitB download, I will look into this most certainly!

Hello good afternoon, I was wondering if anyone has ever brought their anti-allergy pills? I have been wanting to use their Cetirizine HCI 10mg. They are called HealthA2Z and distributed by Allegiant Health.I’m also Asthmatic and these allergies are terrible for me but I also want to be sure they don’t have any sort of gluten compound.    I have tried calling them but to no avail. Has anyone ever used them? If so, did you had any problems or no problems at all?    thank you
