I am about to start the SCD diet because there are raving reviews (~270) on Amazon about how it gets rid of all the symptoms of Celiac.

I was wondering if anyone here has tried it? I'm very excited.

I did it faithfully for about 11 months and then started adding regular foods back into my diet. It was the best thing I ever did, but it was also very challenging. I feel better than I have in 10 years! Good luck. Check my profile for some resources.

The book in question is Breaking the Vicious Cycle: Intestinal Health Through Diet by Elaine Gottshall.

There is a lengthy discussion of the SCD on this board here.

I didn't do SCD but did go grain free with great results. There were too many things I wasn't tolerant of in the SCD so I guess I modified it somewhat. For me going grain free has been enough. But there are people here who had great success on the diet.

Thanks! I am having great success so far with it... it makes perfect sense to me. About 3 days ago I was still feeling scratching and pain in my abdomen but now I am without pain! Still bloated, but I hope healing.

Here is an relevant, fascinating article: Open Original Shared Link "Whatever happened to the

cure for coeliac disease?"

      Thanks for your input.

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
