Wheezing?

Helene

Recommended Posts

Helene Newbie

Hi,

I'm Helene and new to the board.

My daughter has food allergies and asthma/wheezing.

I believe that she might have celiac disease and plan to have her tested.

Do others find that they have wheezing?

Also, she seems to react to SO many foods especially if she eats the food in great quantity.

A friend was telling me that her intestines could be causing reactions to these other foods even though she may not be allergic. Can someone help me understand this or lead me to a good resource?

Thank you so much!

Helene

hmmm does she have seasonal allergies? That would be a cause right there.

If you could list all her problems that might be related to celiac it might be helpful.

From what i read, allergies can appear more freaquently after going gluten free.

I have a childhood history of allergies and am asthmatic. I tested positive on the blood test for celiac disease.

I've seen other threads in here where many celiacs having breathing difficulties / are asthmatic, and their symtoms resolved going gluten free.

My son's asthma resoved on going gluten free. He had it for years.

There are several research articles on here recently where they are starting to make the connection between asthma and Celiac. They should come up if you do a search here.

Your response on this matter is what I expect. You’ve had a similar episode years ago, but this one is lasting longer!

I'd like to clarify: Is the pain you describe in the area just below your chest constant, or does it only appear when you start moving?

Thank you for the links to the articles.  Interesting reading. I'll be telling my brother in law because he has a lot of pain
