hello everyone! :)

I was recently in a health food store buying some stuff. I like a few Glutano products, but Ive never tried the breakfast bars. Can anyone tell me how they taste, if they're good or not? I bought the blueberry kind and didnt open the box yet.....I hate when you open the box and they taste awful.....You spend extra money and looked foward to it, only to have a bad taste left in your mouth!!!!:angry::angry::angry::angry:

I waste so much money this way. So I figured Id post this message with the hope that someone can tell me about a product.....if you want, I'll reciprocate as well.

So, Glutano Breakfast Bars-----????????????

Also, just remembered the other one I bought and didnt like Nana's something ??? chocolate bars-------hated it. What about the regular cookies-----??????

Thank you,

Lets help one another save money! sounds like a great idea, no?

Happy August!!! B)

Glutano has lemon wafers that are good.

Glutano had blueberry and apple bars that are good but the chocolate ones are nasty.

I second that opinion! We like the fruit flavored ones, but the chocolate ones really are nasty! Only a few people on the two message boards I belong to have said they actually liked them. They were very bitter and just tasted bad. Not to mention what they look like. My kids thought they looked like dog poop that you find dried up outside! It doesn't make for a good mental image when you are biting down on something that you expect might taste good, and then it tastes awful.

The apples ones are my favorite, but I like the blueberry ones too. My friend thought the apple ones were too sweet, and she only likes the blueberry ones. I keep a stock of both. The only problem I have is that they are too small. If I need it as a quick on the go breakfast then I have to eat two of them.

We also love the Glutino Pizza flavored breadsticks. They do NOT taste like pizza, instead they remind my kids and I of the garlic flavored croutons we used to eat. They make an excellent crouton replacement on salads and are wonderful as a crunchy snack.

God bless,

Mariann

WELL, we like the chocolate ones and the blueberry ones. But not the apple ones. We put cream cheese on top of them... like a bagel that way. We also love the pizza flavored bread stick, but can't find them anymore. On line ordering from glutano is too expensive. You end up paying TWICE for the stuff when you add in shipping charges. With the pizza flavored breadstick we used to sprinkle mozzerella cheese on top and bake till melted. Then add a side of sauce for dipping. Yum. Great lunch or snack for kids.

Ut-oh ~ I liked the chocolate ones as well!

I don't like the comparison to dog poop, but they did taste good to me!!!

I am a BIG chocolate fan, though, so maybe that has a bearing on it.

Anyway, I also loved the apple and blueberry. Open the box and enjoy!!! :)

I think, like anything, you've just got to try them. I tried the apple ones - they're ok. Nothing spectacular, but not awful. But, then again, I like Lara Bars. ;-) Sometimes, we've just got to try out these things (I know, I know... the cost gets expensive... that's why I don't try these things very often!)

I tried them all and didn't like any of them...

They're a raw food bar, that's essentially just nuts, dates, and spices with other dried fruit - depending on the flavor.

Hi all I’ve been celiac for 4 years now, I’ve done pretty well to avoid it thus far. Last night I took the wrong pizza out of the freezer and ate the whole lot!! The non gluten and gluten pizza boxes are both very similar.   2 hours later I was throwing up violently on my hands and knees over the loo.  .horrendous stomach pains,  My hair was wet from sweat every part of my body was wet. What an awful experience, just had a bad headache today  fortunately.    Is their any products/pills anyone takes if they have realised they have just been glutened to make the symptoms a little less worse.  thanks

Yes, do take your B Complex with Benfotiamine or Thiamax.  Thiamine interacts with each of the other B vitamins in the B Complex to make energy and enzymes, so best to take them together earlier in your day.  Taking them too close to bedtime can keep you too energetic to go to sleep.   The Life Extension Benfotiamine with Thiamine is Benfotiamine and Thiamine Hydrochloride, another form of thiamine the body likes.  The Thiamine HCl just helps the Benfotiamine work better.   Read the label for how many milligrams are in them.  The Mega Benfotiamine is 250 mgs.  Another Benfothiamine has 100 mgs.  You might want to start with the 100 mg.    I like to take Thiamax in the morning with a B Complex at breakfast.  I take the Benfotiamine with another meal.  You can take your multivitamin with Benfotiamine at lunch.   Add a magnesium supplement, too.  Thiamine needs magnesium to make some important enzymes.  Life Extension makes Neuro-Mag, Magnesium Threonate, which is really beneficial.  (Don't take Magnesium Oxide.  It's not absorbed well, instead it pulls water into the digestive tract and is used to relieve constipation.)  I'm not a big fan of multivitamins because they don't always dissolve well in our intestines, and give people a false sense of security.  (There's videos on how to test how well your multivitamin dissolves.).  Multivitamins don't prevent deficiencies and aren't strong enough to correct deficiencies.   I'm happy you are trying Thiamax and Benfotiamine!  Keep us posted on your progress!  I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

I looked further into Thiamax Vitamin B1 by objective nutrients and read all the great reviews. I think I will give this a try. I noticed only possible side affect is possibly the first week so body adjusts. Life Extensions carries Benfotiamine with Thiamine and the mega one you mentioned. Not sure if both in one is better or seperate. some reviews state a laxative affect as side affect. SHould I take with my super B complex or just these 2 and multivitamin? I will do further research but I appreciate the wonderful explanation you provided on Thiamine.

There are other Celiac genes. HLA DQ 2 and HLA DQ 8 show up in people from Northern European descent.   People of Mediterranean descent have HLA DQ 7.  People of Asian descent have HLA DQ 9.   There's other Indigenous populations that have other HLA genes that code for Celiac disease.   Are you still having symptoms?   What do you include in your diet?  Are you vegetarian? Are you taking any prescription medication?  Omeprazole?  Metformin?   Do you have anemia?  Thyroid problems? Are you taking any vitamins or herbal supplements?
