My daughter's current GI doc has her diagnosed "gluten sensitive". I know at this point that I will never put her back on gluten to get an official Celiac diagnosis. Her history is pretty long, but she definately can not handle gluten and was failure to thrive because of it. She is now happily off gluten after a 2 month gluten trial in which she did awful, but her bloodwork came back negative. She is currently 16 months old.

So, I am thinking about asking her ped for a referral to CHOP's Celiac Center. But, I will not put her on gluten, so I don't know if it is even worth it. Was anyone diagnosed there without positive bloodwork, but an extensive history that supports Celiac's?

Maybe call and talk to them? I agree that if you have no intention on putting her back on for testing it may be a bust.

We are toying with the idea of taking DS to Baltimore because of wonkey blood work. Still undecided here too. He's been gluten-free for over a year after an inconclusive biopsy (but was totally asymptomatic) so...

I was thinking the same thing. There is no point in fighting with the insurance company to get them to pay for something out of network and making a 3 hour drive if all they are going to say is that they need her to go back on gluten in order to diagnose her. I will not be doing that anytime soon.

      Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic.       Ibuprofen

      Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce. Something is making my pain so much worse I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs. Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever...

Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
