I read that Turkey lunch meat was safe...but what about others? Ham? Salami? Roast beef?

When lunch meat has that slimey substance all over it..is it going bad or is that just a preservative?

Is canned Tuna and chicken safe?

You always have to read the labels, but Boar's Head, Applegate Farms, Diestel, Hillshire Farms, Carl Buddig, and Oscar Meyer all make gluten-free deli meats. (That's not to say anything made by the company is safe; you always have to check the labels.)

The slimey stuff is fairly normal and doesn't mean it's gone bad yet, but I think it's pretty nasty!

I haven't come across a tuna that isn't gluten-free, but always check the labels. Flavored tuna may have something in it that isn't safe. Same goes for canned chicken.

Hormel salami is gluten-free. Lots of deli products are safe, you just have to read the label before ordering, then remember what you got so you can always order that brand. You get to bug the deli clerk and ask to see the entire ham, etc so that you can read the ingredients. They just love that.... ;)

Oscar mayer bologna is gluten-free. So are their hot dogs. On line is a great way to confirm. Just google the brand name of the deli meat you want and if it's not listed on the web site, send an email asking. Most companies get back to you asap. Also there's a product called Thai Kitchen... these products are found in most normal food stores so you don't have to pay extra for them at a healthfood store.. They are tasty. Most are gluten free, some are not. But they list the words Gluten free in bold red letters on the boxes of those that are gluten free. You can go to their web site at Thai kitchen .com and see the list of gluten free products they make. Some are really convenient microwaveable dishes, perfect for work. I also recommend the kinnikinnick brand breads.. All are good and then you can have sandwiches which are the easiest thing to make for lunch.

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.

Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!

That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.

Same day which is strange to me.

Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
