After I sent the sample in, i called to tell them about the IgA total serum being low. However, I don't think the GI will care either way!

It probably doesn't matter anyway, it is the fecal fat that I want addressed, right?

Fecal fat and the fractures combine to make a pretty strong picture of malabsorption, don't they? I agree that's the best thing to focus on.

That and her short stature (3rd percentile for height and weight). I could go on and on but you have heard it all!

Skylark: so that fecal result isn't going to be dismissed by this Celiac Expert GI because it was from Enterolab?

Enterolab is an accredited diagnostic lab. Unlike stool IgA, microscopic fecal fat analysis with Sudan III staining is a very standard and well-accepted diagnostic test. Enterolab uses a quantitative approach to reading the slides, which has been published in a peer-reviewed journal. You can bring the article with you and show it to your GI if she has any questions about the way Enterolab is scoring the fecal fat slides.

For that matter, fecal TTG IgA isn't that far off the beaten path; it's just that your daughter having a positive result when she is IgA deficient is a little hard to interpret.

The big question-mark at Enterolab is fecal anti-gliadin IgA. It's probably meaningful in combination with TTG but interpreting it alone makes me twitch. The second paper is particularly damning. ;)

Thanks Skylark! Her endocrinologist is convinced her issues are GI related but she is friends with the GI so this was a challenge. Now I have proof this is GI with that fecal fat! Yeah. Now I just need to rule out the other diseases associated with fecal fat. B)

      Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic.       Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce. Something is making my pain so much worse I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs. Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever...

Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
