Davocet Gf?

I am newly diagnosed with Celiac and have back pain as a side effect of the Celiac. I am taking Darvocet for the back pain until they figure out the root cause of the back pain. Can anyone verify for me that Darvocet is gluten free? I have tried to ask the pharmacist but have not been able to get a definitive answer. Thanks!!

As with most generics, it varies by mfr. Last I checked, Malinckrodt's version was gluten-free. I keep it around for those really tough days.

Since Darvocet can be habit forming and makes most people whacky, you may want to consider discussing ultram/ultracet with your doc. I use a generic ultram and take my own generic "tylenol" sice that is all ultracet is and I am not going to pay the brand name price for it. It works well except on those nasty weather days or in the middle of winter. I can also vary my dosage from 1-2 a day up to 10-12 a day as needed without having to worry about becoming addicted or having side effects from adjustin the amounts I take. After being on it for a few weeks and seeing how I handled it, I also found that unless I am taking higher amounts I can still function even to drive using the ultram. If I am having a tough enough day to require significant amounts of it or even a Darvocet, I am not up to getting out anyway.
